About the Department

The Electronics & Communication Engineering Department was started in our Institution in the year 1980 with an annual intake of 60 students under the approval of AICTE, New Delhi and the Directorate of Technical Education, Government of Tamil Nadu. This department is a purely Government aided co-educational department aimed to impart technical education in the field of Electronics and Communication Engineering. Due to the vast development of technology in this field, the government has granted increase in intake from 60 to 120 from the year 2008 – 2009.

To create an industrial exposure among the students, In-plant trainings have been regularly arranged to students for 15days during their vacations. Industrial visits to various leading Electronics industries and Communication Industries have been regularly organized to students to get an industrial experience and to cope with the latest trends and technology in their field of study. Our department students have been posted in leading Multi National Companies such as TCS, HCL, and INFOSYS throughout India and abroad.

Programme objectives

To create and develop the young diploma students in the field of Communication Engineering.
To update the knowledge of the students and cope up with the latest trends and development in the industry to create a communication world with their electronics knowledge.

Further Education

A diploma holder in Electronics & Communication Engineering can join B.E. in lateral entry and complete the course in three years.
