About the Trust
The Mohamed Sathak Trust, a charitable and educational organisation, was founded on October 26, 1973, in Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram District, Tamil Nadu, by the charitable Mohamed Sathak Family.
The Trust founded the first self-financing engineering college in the nation in 1984 at Kilakarai,
The trust has a proven track record of managing outstanding educational institutions in a variety of disciplines, including Engineering Technology, Arts and Sciences, Schools, Teacher Training College, Pharmacy, Physiotherapy, Nursing, Architecture and Medical Sciences; it currently operates 18 educational institutions in Kilakarai, Ramanathapuram and Chennai.
The Mohamed Sathak Trust will mark its golden jubilee in 2023 over five decades of contribution in the field of Education.
About the College
The Polytechnic College established in 1980, is located on Ramanathapuram-Kanyakumari Coastal Road, 3KM away from Kilakarai amidst sylvan surrounding of co-conut and neem groves in a 30 acres pollution free campus, having serene and peaceful atmosphere for learning.
It is the moment of pride that our polytechnic college celebrated its Silver Jubilee gloriously in 2005. As a genuine recognition, our polytechnic college has received Accreditation by the NBA, AICTE, New Delhi in 2007.
The notable feature is that Marine Engineering is taught at diploma level only in our polytechnic college throughout south india. Our polytechnic college is recognised by Directorate General of Shipping, Mumbai.
